Grant Description

The Ashland County Community Foundation (ACCF), a private charitable organization, provides Community Grants to support a wide range of programs and projects that benefit any population in Ashland County, Ohio. The foundation has a long-standing commitment to enhancing the quality of life within the county by supporting local nonprofit and charitable organizations. Community Grants are designed to provide flexible funding to help advance community initiatives. These grants typically range from $10,000 to $15,000 and support project-based funding, program development, equipment purchases, building and renovation projects, capital campaigns, seed money, and matching or challenge grants. However, funding is not provided to individuals, for ongoing operating expenses, for annual campaigns, for existing endowment funds not held at ACCF, for cash reserves, for debt reduction, or for religious purposes. Eligibility is limited to 501(c)(3) nonprofit organizations and other qualifying charitable organizations serving Ashland County. Religious organizations may apply if the grant supports non-religious purposes. The foundation does not accept applications from government entities or for-profit organizations. Applicants must create an account and apply through ACCF’s online grants system. First-time applicants must schedule an interview with ACCF staff prior to submitting their application. After review, the Grants Committee may request an additional interview. If awarded a grant, recipients are required to submit a grant agreement form and a final grant report through the same system. The Community Grants program operates on a recurring cycle, with application deadlines on March 1 and September 1 each year. The next closing date for applications is September 1, 2025, and the following cycle is expected to open in March 2026. Successful applicants will be notified of their award status in early May or early November, depending on the cycle.
