Eligible applicants include 501(c)(3) tax-exempt entities, schools, hospitals, governmental units with nonprofit status similar to 501(c)(3) organizations, war-veterans organizations (501(c)(19)), and volunteer fire departments (501(c)(4)). Ineligible activities include funding for groups without nonprofit status, payment of utility bills, support for political candidates or groups, purchase of uniforms or equipment for school-related organizations or amateur sports teams, promotion of specific religions or religious institutions, grants to individuals or loans of any type.
