National Early Detection of Ovarian Cancer Research Awards 2025
This funding opportunity supports U.S.-based researchers working on innovative studies to improve the early detection of ovarian, fallopian tube, and primary peritoneal cancers.
The Minnesota Ovarian Cancer Alliance (MOCA), a nonprofit organization based in Minneapolis, Minnesota, is committed to supporting research, education, and advocacy for individuals affected by ovarian cancer. MOCA promotes initiatives that advance early detection and improved treatment strategies for ovarian, fallopian tube, and primary peritoneal cancers. In support of this mission, MOCA is offering multiple research grants through its 2025 National Early Detection of Ovarian Cancer Research Awards program. This funding opportunity is designed to support U.S.-based researchers conducting studies focused on the early detection of ovarian cancer. Grants will be awarded in fixed amounts of either $50,000 or $100,000 and are limited to one year of research activity. Funding can be requested for both individual projects and components of larger research initiatives, provided they contribute meaningfully to the prevention or early detection of ovarian, primary peritoneal, or fallopian tube cancer. MOCA allows flexibility in the use of funds, which may include principal investigator salaries, travel to conferences, publication costs, and up to 10% for indirect costs. A detailed budget with rationale is required. Applications are accepted from researchers across the United States, not limited to Minnesota. Proposals must include a cover letter, project abstract, summary for a lay audience, full research proposal (maximum six pages, not including references), budget, timeline, and documentation such as a curriculum vitae, biographical statement, and a letter of recommendation from the overseeing department or institution. If the proposal continues a previously MOCA-funded project, applicants must detail progress to date and explain how the new proposal differs. A review of similar studies, including any that may affect recruitment or funding, is also required. The evaluation process involves national experts in early detection research and members of MOCA, with final funding decisions made by the MOCA Board of Directors. Proposals must be submitted electronically as a single PDF file to Kate Rodriguez at krodriguez@mnovarian.org by 4:00 p.m. Central Time on September 2, 2025. Successful submissions will receive an email confirmation. Applicants will be notified of funding decisions by October 31, 2025. Award recipients will be publicly announced at the MOCA Awards Night event scheduled for November 2025. The grant is not rolling and does not recur automatically, although MOCA has a history of offering similar awards annually. For questions or further information, interested parties may contact the Minnesota Ovarian Cancer Alliance at 612-822-0500 or via email at info@mnovarian.org. The organization is located at 4604 Chicago Avenue, Minneapolis, MN 55407.
