The Fishers Arts & Culture Business Matching Grant Program
This program provides matching funds to businesses, nonprofits, and government entities for creating public art projects that enhance community identity and cultural vibrancy in Fishers, Indiana.
The Fishers Arts & Culture Business Matching Grant Program is administered by the Fishers Arts & Culture Commission to support the creation and installation of public art in the City of Fishers, Indiana. The program is designed to strengthen community identity and cultural vibrancy through strategic partnerships with businesses, nonprofits, and governmental entities that are committed to enriching public spaces. This initiative reflects the Commission’s core values of inclusivity, authenticity, engagement, collaboration, innovation, and education. The grant supports public-facing art projects including sculptures, murals, and other cultural improvements in publicly accessible spaces. The Commission strongly encourages projects to be located within the Nickel Plate District—a designated state cultural district—or along targeted investment corridors such as Lantern Road, USA Parkway, and Olio Road. Sculptural projects are particularly encouraged to use the daVinci Pursuit Art Port system to promote a statewide shared art model. The Commission facilitates an optional Request for Qualifications (RFQ) process for applicants without an affiliated artist. Eligible applicants include businesses, nonprofit organizations, and governmental agencies. Individual artists may participate only in partnership with an eligible entity. All projects must be located within the city limits of Fishers. Applicants must provide a detailed project budget and demonstrate the ability to meet the required 50% cost share. The grant may provide matching funds of up to $25,000 and funds will be issued under a Professional Services Agreement. Applications are reviewed on a bi-monthly basis during the Commission’s regular public meetings. Each submission is evaluated based on alignment with the Commission’s core values, the location’s strategic significance, the project’s public accessibility, and the level of community impact. Funded projects must also coordinate with the City’s Public and Community Relations Department to support promotional storytelling and inclusion on the city’s events calendar. Applicants are advised to prepare and submit all required materials in advance of scheduled Commission meetings. The City offers RFQ facilitation—including a 60-day call for artists and review process—for projects that do not identify a specific artist at the time of submission. For more information, interested parties may contact the City of Fishers or the Fishers Arts & Culture Commission.
