Responsive Grants

Responsive Grants are designed to address urgent community needs, emerging opportunities, test new ideas, or support proven programs across the nonprofit sector. Eligible applicants are nonprofit organizations focused on any subject-matter or area of need within the community. The grant awards start at $10,000 with a typical grant term of one year, and applications are accepted on a rolling basis throughout the year. Organizations are eligible for one Responsive Grant award per calendar year. The selection criteria emphasize organizational strength, potential for community impact, and a sound implementation plan, including a feasible project budget, capacity for execution, and a method for tracking progress and outcomes. Support is also available for non-501(c)(3) organizations utilizing a fiscal sponsor with the necessary IRS designation, subject to the review of the fiscal sponsor’s health and a signed sponsorship agreement.
