Opioid Settlement Community Grant Program

The City of Mesa has established the Opioid Settlement Community Grant Program as part of its participation in the One Arizona Agreement, which allocates funds received from national opioid settlements. As a result of these settlements, Arizona is set to receive over $1.14 billion, and the City of Mesa has committed $1.0 million of its share to this community grant program. The program is designed to support agencies that provide services to address the opioid crisis among Mesa residents. The funding will support programs across four key focus areas: prevention and education, early intervention and treatment, harm reduction and rescue, and recovery and resiliency. Programs can target any population, but priority consideration will be given to those programs that have a direct impact on children and youth. The grant process will be managed through the online platform ZoomGrants, and interested applicants are encouraged to carefully review the application guidelines, scoring template, and materials from the virtual funding kick-off meeting. The funding process for fiscal year 2025/2026 opens on February 18, 2025. A virtual agency funding kick-off meeting was held on the same day, covering funding sources, eligibility requirements, City Council priorities, and the ZoomGrants application process. Applicants can access a recording of this meeting, and additional guidance documents are available online. Eligible applicants must provide services to Mesa residents and focus on addressing opioid use disorder (OUD). Applicants will be evaluated based on their program’s alignment with the funding priorities, the clarity of their proposed program plan, measurable outcomes, and the organization’s experience and capacity to manage funds and deliver services effectively.
