Grant Description

United Way of Kankakee & Iroquois Counties (UWKIC) provides 2025 Impact Grants to support high-quality programs that improve education, health, and economic mobility for residents in these counties. The funding is sourced from community donations to United Way’s Community Investment Fund and allocated through a competitive grant process. The primary objective of the Impact Grants is to create lasting, measurable change in the community. Organizations receiving funding must demonstrate their ability to operate effective, data-driven programs that align with United Way’s mission. Each application undergoes a thorough evaluation process, including financial reviews, site visits, and program impact assessments. Grant funding is distributed monthly between July 2025 and June 2026, with recipient organizations required to provide quarterly progress reports to United Way. Funding is not available for political organizations, exclusive religious groups, direct medical services, or government-mandated services. The grant selection process is volunteer-driven, involving United Way’s Community Impact Committee, Finance Committee, and Board of Directors. Organizations must submit a Letter of Intent (LoI) by February 7, 2025, followed by a full grant application by March 21, 2025. Selected applicants will participate in site visits during April, and funding decisions will be finalized in May.
