Grant Description

The White Rose Foundation Community Grant, administered through The Denver Foundation, is a funding opportunity that supports community-based programs aimed at improving the welfare of Denver’s Black communities. Sponsored by the Denver Chapter of The Links, Incorporated, this grant is rooted in over 70 years of volunteer service by Black women committed to advancing educational, social, and economic equity. The foundation’s mission emphasizes transformational initiatives, particularly those that reduce educational inequality, enhance access to social determinants like housing and transportation, and foster leadership development among Black women, teens, and girls. To align with this mission, grant-funded projects must fall within one of the foundation’s five priority areas: Arts & Culture, Healthy Lifestyles, College & Career Prep, STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts, and Math), and Civic & Social Impact. To be eligible, organizations must be 501(c)(3) nonprofits or have a qualifying fiscal sponsor, have operated for at least five years, and be based in or serve the Denver metro area. Priority is given to applicants serving Colorado’s Black community. Previous grantees must submit a final report detailing outcomes, partnerships, and expenditures before applying again. Each year, the White Rose Foundation offers two grant cycles. The spring 2025 cycle is open from March 3 to April 15. Awards typically range from $1,000 to $5,000. Grants are unrestricted but must align with the foundation’s mission and support activities that contribute to community transformation and equity. Applicants are required to register through The Denver Foundation’s online grant portal. Evaluation is based on alignment with program goals and potential community impact. Additional emphasis is placed on education at all levels, women’s health, mental health, and equity-driven cultural initiatives. Grants may also be used as matching funds in collaboration with other organizations.
