This program provides a 12-week accelerator for BIPOC entrepreneurs in South Los Angeles, offering mentorship, training, and funding access to help them grow their early-stage businesses.
The South LA Founders Launchpad is a 12-week entrepreneur accelerator program specifically designed for BIPOC founders residing or operating businesses in South Los Angeles. Administered by The SoLa Foundation, the program is centered around empowering emerging entrepreneurs through mentorship, training, and funding access. The initiative targets founders with early-stage businesses or well-defined business ideas, aiming to stimulate economic development and self-sufficiency within historically underserved communities. Program participation is open to South LA residents or business owners who are at least 18 years old and have a business idea, prototype, or company operating for less than two years. Ideal applicants should be able to commit 6โ8 hours per week over the programโs duration. The accelerator begins on October 14, 2025, and runs through January 26, 2026, with sessions held on Tuesday and Thursday evenings. Participants receive extensive support, including six months of expert-led workshops, one-on-one mentorship, access to microgrants, and the opportunity to present at a final pitch day with potential investment opportunities. The program is structured as a hybrid model combining virtual and in-person sessions. Up to 60 founders will be accepted into the initial cohort, with up to 15 selected for extended mentorship from February to March 2026. Program content includes training in retail operations, manufacturing and supply chain management, retail finances, and overall business development. Entrepreneurs in industries such as food and beverage, beauty, baby products, household essentials, personal care, wellness, and pet care are encouraged to apply. The program particularly welcomes founders with direct-to-consumer or limited retail presence and lifetime revenues between $5,000 and $25,000. Applicants must complete an online application by September 26, 2025. Following submission, candidates may be contacted for interviews, and final acceptance notifications will be issued by October 3, 2025. Required documents include last yearโs tax return, profit and loss statement, product certifications (if applicable), and details of any partner companies. An EIN or DUNS number is also expected. The SoLa Foundation provides participants with connections to business leaders, investors, and industry experts. All applicants are encouraged to clearly express their business goals and demonstrate how the program will support their personal and community impact.
