Grant Description

The Town of Mountain Village Community Grant Program is a local initiative designed to support nonprofit organizations delivering services and programming that benefit the Mountain Village community. Administered through the Town of Mountain Village, the program is governed by a dedicated Grant Committee consisting of town council members, staff, and residents. Its objective is to fund projects that support year-round economic vitality and reflect the values and priorities of Mountain Village, such as health and human services, education, athletics, arts and culture, early childhood services, and environmental stewardship. This grant program specifically targets nonprofit organizations that are legally registered and in good standing within the State of Colorado. Applicants must either possess active IRS nonprofit status or provide documentation of a pending IRS determination. Eligible programs must offer significant, measurable, and direct services to Mountain Village residents or businesses and reflect the high-quality image associated with the town. Proposed services must not duplicate those already offered by municipal departments. Funding under this program is not available for certain types of expenses, including capital campaigns, endowments, one-time or ongoing events or festivals, or programs already funded by the Town of Mountain Village. The grant also excludes funding for political or religious advocacy, grant redistribution to other organizations, or payments to national organizations. All awarded funds must be used locally within the community. Applications must be submitted electronically by 11:59 p.m. on September 21, 2025, through the town's online portal. Applications are reviewed by the Grant Committee based on factors such as alignment with the townโ€™s strategic priorities, potential community impact, sustainability of the project, and budget justification. Additional documents required for application include current and projected budgets, financial statements, IRS 990 tax return, and proof of nonprofit status. Previous grantees must also submit a final grant report detailing impacts, metrics, and financial expenditures from the prior award period. The Grant Committee evaluates each proposal and forwards recommendations to the Town Council for final funding decisions. Successful applicants are notified in early December following the townโ€™s formal budget adoption, currently scheduled for December 11, 2025. Awards are disbursed beginning January 1, 2026, and may be issued in installments upon execution of a grant agreement and submission of an invoice. For additional details, applicants may contact grants@mtnvillage.org or call 970-728-8000. Physical inquiries can be made at the Town Hall at 455 Mountain Village Blvd, Suite A, Mountain Village, CO 81435.
