Texas Stars Foundation Grant

The Texas Stars Foundation, the official charity of the Texas Stars Hockey Club, is a registered 501(c)(3) organization established in the summer of 2010. Its primary mission is to enhance the Central Texas community through a combination of financial contributions, in-kind donations, and volunteerism. The Foundation strategically leverages the involvement of Texas Stars players, their families, staff, and ownership to support causes such as honoring military families, engaging youth, and aiding individuals in need. Emphasizing a community-centered approach, the Foundation partners with a wide range of local initiatives and programs aligned with its mission. The grant opportunity offered by the Texas Stars Foundation is available to any registered nonprofit organization or charitable group that both operates in and serves the Central Texas area. Applicants must provide proof of their charitable status during the application process. While all qualifying organizations are invited to apply, priority is given to programs that directly align with the Foundation’s mission. These may include initiatives that support military families, youth engagement, and general assistance for underserved populations within the region. Funding amounts vary per application and are expected to range from several hundred to several thousand dollars. The Foundation does not provide funding for salaries, operational utilities, or underwriting. The use of funds should be explicitly tied to programmatic purposes that yield direct benefits for the target population. Partial funding requests are permitted, provided applicants explain how they will adjust the program scope accordingly. The application process requires the submission of a comprehensive grant application through Formstack by September 30, 2025. Applicants must also include several supporting documents: a cover letter, a copy of the IRS determination letter, board of directors information, overall organizational budget, budget for the specific program or project, and any relevant literature or materials supporting the request. The Foundation may contact applicants if submissions are incomplete before the deadline but cannot consider any incomplete applications received after the deadline. Applicants will be notified of funding decisions by October 15, 2025. Previous recipients of Texas Stars Foundation support are eligible to reapply, and prior awards will not affect future consideration. If awarded, the organization must submit a follow-up report in the early part of the following year to update the Foundation on the status of the funded project. The Foundation also reserves the right to conduct site visits as part of its evaluation process.
