Grant Description

The Arts Council of Greater Greensboro (ACGG), in partnership with the North Carolina Arts Council, is offering the 2025–26 Artist Support Grant. This initiative provides direct funding to individual artists and small unincorporated artist groups residing in Guilford and Randolph Counties, North Carolina. The purpose of the grant is to support a broad range of professional development and creative projects across disciplines, including visual, performing, literary, and interdisciplinary arts. The Artist Support Grant seeks to promote the creation and public presentation of new work, career advancement opportunities, training and workshops, travel for professional development, and compensation for artistic labor. Grants range from $500 to $2,000, tailored to specific needs and project scopes. Eligible expenditures include purchasing supplies or equipment, space rentals, website creation, portfolio development, documentation, online presentations, and attendance at professional events. Applicants must be U.S. citizens or permanent residents who have lived continuously in Guilford or Randolph Counties for at least one year prior to the deadline. Artists must be at least 18 years old and not enrolled full-time in undergraduate programs. Graduate students in non-art fields may be eligible if all other criteria are met. Artists affiliated with organizations receiving state-level arts funding or who hold staff or board roles with the ACGG are ineligible. Applications will open on June 2, 2025, and must be submitted by September 5, 2025. Artists are encouraged to attend Zoom workshops for application support, offered on June 9, July 14, and August 11. The application process includes narrative questions, a project budget, and supporting documentation such as artist statements or work samples. Proposals will be evaluated based on artistic merit and the feasibility and impact of the proposed project. Key review criteria include the talent and excellence demonstrated by the artist and the potential benefit of the project to their career. This grant operates annually and is expected to reopen in June 2026. For questions or additional information, applicants may contact Laura Way, President and CEO of ACGG, at lway@theacgg.org or 336-279-7080.
