Dupaco’s Gift of Innovation Grant

Dupaco Credit Union’s Gift of Innovation Grant is a unique, non-monetary capacity-building opportunity for nonprofit organizations. Powered by The Innovation Lab, this program offers customized innovation sessions valued at up to $40,000 per award. The sessions are designed to enhance nonprofit operational efficiency, strategic planning, financial sustainability, and long-term impact. Instead of providing cash awards, the program delivers tailored services ranging from single-day engagements to comprehensive, year-long consulting programs. This grant is open to 501(c)(3) public charities operating in Iowa or in specific counties in Illinois and Wisconsin, within Dupaco Credit Union’s charter area. Ineligible applicants include government units and supporting organizations. Eligible nonprofits must submit a complete application during the designated period and commit resources necessary to fully participate in the awarded innovation session. The application period for the 2025 cycle runs from October 1 through November 14. Applicants are evaluated based on their organizational readiness, potential for impact, alignment between their challenges and the innovation model, and the clarity and feasibility of their proposal. While alignment with Dupaco’s community pillars is not required, priority is given to organizations operating in cities with Dupaco branch offices. The evaluation process involves an internal review by Dupaco’s Community Impact Team and final selection by a joint committee from the credit union and The Innovation Lab. Supplemental information may be requested during the review process. Decisions are typically made within eight weeks following submission, though this timeline may vary. Notification is made via email. Ultimately, the Gift of Innovation Grant is intended to help nonprofits overcome resource limitations that hinder innovation. The goal is to build stronger, more agile organizations capable of expanding their service reach and community impact.
