Advancing Strategies to Support Older Adults with Behavioral Health Conditions in the Senior Nutrition Program Setting

The Administration for Community Living (ACL) has announced a forecasted funding opportunity titled "Advancing Strategies to Support Older Adults with Behavioral Health Conditions in the Senior Nutrition Program Setting" (HHS-2025-ACL-AOA-INNU-0014). This opportunity is intended to support a single project focused on enhancing services for older adults with behavioral health conditions in senior nutrition program settings, which include both congregate and home-delivered meal services. The project’s primary goals are to identify barriers and facilitators to serving seniors with behavioral health needs, implement person-centered, trauma-informed, and culturally appropriate practices, and create resources based on findings that are compliant with Section 508 accessibility standards. The project is designed to be scalable across the aging services network, aiming to foster innovations that can be broadly applied to enhance the support of behavioral health needs among seniors. The total funding for this grant is anticipated to be $810,438, with award amounts ranging from $500,000 to $810,438. This cooperative agreement will require cost-sharing or matching funds from the recipient. Eligible applicants include a variety of organizations, such as state and local governments, tribal governments, educational institutions, nonprofits with 501(c)(3) status, and community organizations. Faith-based organizations that meet eligibility requirements are also welcome to apply. Foreign entities, however, are not eligible for this grant.
