The California Employment Development Department (EDD) is offering a targeted funding opportunity through the Campesino de California Outreach Grant โ Radio Media (CCOG-RM) Program Year 2025โ26 (PY 25โ26). This grant provides up to $100,000 in total funding, fully sourced from the U.S. Department of Labor's Wagner-Peyser 10 Percent Governorโs Discretionary funds. The goal of this program is to reach domestic and foreign Migrant and Seasonal Farmworkers (MSFWs) and their families via Spanish-language radio programs to disseminate essential information about available benefits, services, and programs offered by EDD and its partners.
The awarded grantee will be responsible for developing and broadcasting 24 semi-monthly, 30-minute hosted radio talk shows. These programs must be presented in Spanish and tailored to the informational needs of the MSFW population. Content should focus on labor rights, workforce services, training opportunities, unemployment benefits, and other supportive programs.
Eligible applicants include nonprofit public or private organizations, community and faith-based organizations, tribal governments, and educational institutions. Individual applicants are not eligible. An informational webinar will be held on May 12, 2025, at 1:30 p.m. PT, and pre-registration is mandatory. Interested applicants are encouraged to submit a Notice of Intent to apply by May 9, 2025, at noon PT. Final proposals must be submitted by 3:00 p.m. PT on May 27, 2025.
The funding is exclusively federal, with no cost-sharing or match required from applicants. This grant reflects the stateโs commitment to engaging hard-to-reach populations and promoting equitable access to vital workforce services. Additional program guidance and application materials are available via the EDD Workforce Development Solicitations for Proposals webpage.
