2024-2025 Arts in Education Grants
This grant provides funding to public and nonprofit-private accredited Pre-K through grade 12 schools in Anne Arundel County to support arts integration into their educational programs through performances, assemblies, and artist residencies.
The Arts in Education Grants, offered by the Arts Council of Anne Arundel County, aim to integrate the arts into educational curricula for Pre-K through 12th-grade students in public and nonprofit-private accredited schools within Anne Arundel County, Maryland. This program aligns with the foundation's mission to support arts education, having consistently funded initiatives in county schools for over a decade. The primary beneficiaries of these grants are students in Anne Arundel County schools, with a focus on enriching their educational experience through exposure to various art forms. The grants enable schools and PTO/PTA groups to host quality assemblies, performances, and residencies covering dance, history, music, theater, and other arts-related or arts-integrated projects. The impact goal is to foster a deeper appreciation and understanding of the arts among students. The program prioritizes supporting projects that seamlessly integrate artistic disciplines into the existing educational framework. While the description doesn't explicitly detail the foundation's strategic priorities or theory of change beyond this, the consistent funding of arts in education suggests a belief in the transformative power of arts for student development and academic success. Expected outcomes include increased student engagement in the arts, exposure to diverse cultural experiences, and enhanced creativity. Measurable results could involve the number of students participating in these programs, the variety of artistic disciplines offered, and potentially qualitative feedback from students and educators regarding the impact of the arts programs on learning. Grants are available up to $5000, with a recommendation for a 1:1 cash match for projects, further indicating a collaborative approach to funding and maximizing the reach of the programs.
