The Grove Foundation’s 2025 Grant Program provides funding to support grassroots organizations and projects that enhance the quality of life for residents of Downers Grove, Illinois. Established in 2012, the annual grant initiative furthers the Foundation’s mission to enrich lives through community, educational, and recreational efforts. Projects must clearly benefit Downers Grove residents and align with the Foundation’s core values of innovation, collaboration, and service to diverse local populations.
The 2025 application cycle opens on August 1, 2025, and closes on September 30, 2025. Grants typically range from $100 to $1,500, although exceptions may be made at the Board’s discretion. Funds can support programs, program materials, events, classes, or other community experiences, but not day-to-day operations or general overhead. Smaller, grassroots efforts are prioritized over those from large agencies, especially if those organizations have their own foundations or large-scale budgets.
Eligible applicants must complete an online Google Form that includes organizational details, a breakdown of program costs and funding sources, and an explanation of how the proposed project benefits Downers Grove. Applications are reviewed by the Grant Committee, scored using a published rubric, and evaluated based on mission alignment, community impact, funding clarity, and the percentage of participants residing in Downers Grove.
Grant awards will be announced on October 20, 2025, and an award ceremony will follow on November 3, 2025. Applicants are expected to confirm submission via a receipt email; failure to receive confirmation within 24 hours requires follow-up with the Foundation. The Foundation may request that applicants present their proposal or attend a meeting to answer questions.
Questions or concerns about the application process should be directed to info@thegrovefoundation.org. More information is available at www.thegrovefoundation.org.
