Grant Description

The 2024 gBETA Future of Mobility Accelerator Program, an initiative by gener8tor and made possible by the Indiana Economic Development Corporation, is a free, seven-week accelerator for early-stage companies. This program is designed to grow startups focused on transforming the landscape of transportation in the U.S. It is hosted in Indianapolis with both in-person and virtual components, aligning with gener8tor's mission to support and accelerate promising early-stage companies with local roots. The program targets national-based startups, particularly those focused on autonomous vehicle technology, clean-driving or electric vehicles, road or support infrastructure development, highway maintenance and management, highway safety innovation, and technology or process innovations within the transportation or logistics supply chain. The core impact goal of gBETA Future of Mobility is to foster innovation and growth within the transportation sector, contributing to a changing landscape of mobility in the U.S. This aligns with gener8tor's broader strategic priority of cultivating successful startups that can go on to participate in investment accelerators or raise seed rounds. The program prioritizes companies committed to growth and ready to leverage coaching on customer growth, investor readiness, mentor meetings, and investor pitches. The theory of change is that by providing intensive mentorship, access to industry leaders like The Heritage Group and the Indiana Department of Transportation, and a robust network, early-stage companies will accelerate their development and attract further investment, thereby impacting the future of transportation. The program's priorities and focus areas are clearly defined, centering on startups that address various facets of modern transportation. This includes technologies for self-driving, electric vehicles, and innovative solutions for infrastructure, maintenance, and safety. Furthermore, it encompasses any technological or process advancements that can benefit the transportation and logistics supply chain. This broad scope ensures that a diverse range of innovative solutions can be supported, leading to comprehensive advancements in the field. Expected outcomes for participating companies include individualized coaching and mentorship from gener8tor, weekly "Lunch & Learns" and "Mentor Swarms," opportunities for investor and accelerator pitches, and over $1M in deals and perks from major vendors. Measurable results are reflected in the program's goal: graduates are expected to advance to an investment accelerator or successfully raise a seed round. The program itself requires a five-hour weekly commitment, with an expectation of additional time dedicated to business development, ensuring participants are actively engaged and progressing towards these outcomes. Ongoing post-program support and community involvement are also provided to ensure sustained success and integration within the gener8tor network.
