Grant Description

The Dunlap Williamson Fund is a competitive grantmaking initiative administered by the Community Foundation of Central Georgia (CFCG), located in Macon, Georgia. The Foundation serves as a regional philanthropic entity aimed at fostering impactful charitable initiatives across Central Georgia. Grants from the Dunlap Williamson Fund are made possible through philanthropic endowment and are intended to serve pressing community needs while remaining flexible to support future emerging challenges. The fund is designed to support nonprofit efforts that align with societal demands and to proactively address areas that may evolve into significant issues. While the grant’s purpose is intentionally broad to accommodate a wide variety of community initiatives, particular emphasis is placed on healthcare, educational development, family services, and youth welfare. These priority areas reflect the fund's commitment to fostering systemic improvements and enhancing quality of life across Bibb County and adjacent counties in Georgia. Eligible applicants are limited to organizations that are designated as tax-exempt under Section 501(c)(3) of the Internal Revenue Code and have principal offices located in Bibb County or any of its contiguous counties. This geographic restriction ensures that grant funding is focused on serving the Central Georgia region directly. Grants are not available to individuals or entities without nonprofit status. Applications are accepted twice a year, with deadlines at 12:00 PM on May 1 and November 1. The total amount of funding available for each cycle is approximately $24,000. Although there is no set maximum grant amount per applicant, organizations are limited to one award per 12-month period. This structure promotes equitable distribution of funds and ensures that a diverse range of local nonprofits can benefit from the program. To apply, applicants must register for access to CFCG’s online grants portal, a process that requires at least one business day. Once registered, applicants must complete the Dunlap Williamson Fund application and upload a set of required documents in PDF format. These include a project budget summary showing all sources and uses of funds, a board authorization letter, a list of board members with attendance records, the organization’s current operating budget, a current IRS determination letter, and either the most recent audit report or IRS Form 990. Following submission, CFCG staff conducts due diligence, which may include follow-up communications for clarification. The Dunlap Williamson Fund Committee reviews applications and makes funding recommendations to the Foundation's Executive Committee. Final decisions are communicated within approximately three months of the application deadline. Funded organizations are required to submit a final report within sixty days after using the funds or within one year of the application cycle deadline, whichever comes first. This report must be submitted through the online portal. Contact information for CFCG includes a phone number (478-750-9338 or toll-free 866-750-9338) and email address (info@cfcga.org).
