The Fairfield County Foundation offers grants through a variety of restricted and unrestricted funds to support nonprofit organizations in Fairfield County. Restricted funds are directed by the wishes of donors at the time of their establishment, while unrestricted and field-of-interest funds are available for community grant applications. The Foundation invites 501(c)(3) nonprofits to collaborate in fulfilling its mission and encourages applications from organizations either located in Fairfield County or serving a significant number of its residents.
The grant application process is fully online, providing a streamlined experience for applicants. Organizations should carefully review the grant guidelines and application process before submission. The 2025 grant cycle includes two funding opportunities. For Cycle 1, preliminary grant proposals are due by January 13, 2025, with full applications due by January 31, 2025. The Grant Committee will make recommendations to the Board of Trustees for approval by March 20, 2025. For Cycle 2, preliminary proposals are due by July 14, 2025, with full applications required by August 1, 2025. Recommendations for this cycle will be submitted to the Board of Trustees by September 18, 2025.
These grants provide critical funding to support local nonprofits in meeting community needs. Organizations are encouraged to align their proposals with the Foundation’s mission and demonstrate their impact on Fairfield County residents.
