GOCO Community Impact Grant Program
This funding opportunity provides financial support to Colorado communities and organizations for projects that improve outdoor recreational spaces and enhance the quality of life for residents.
The GOCO Community Impact Grant Program offers funding to support projects that improve community quality of life and increase outdoor access across Colorado. This grant focuses on planning, building, or upgrading parks, trails, natural areas, and other publicly accessible outdoor recreation amenities. Projects that address critical stewardship needs and reflect community priorities are given preference. Eligible applicants include Colorado cities, towns, counties, Title 32 special districts receiving Conservation Trust Fund distributions, land conservation organizations focused on open space acquisition, political subdivisions managing open spaces, and Colorado Parks and Wildlife. The program supports a wide range of activities from construction and land acquisition to community engagement and professional services. Grant amounts range from $100,000 to $2 million per project for a one-year period. Starting in fiscal year 2027, limited grants exceeding $2 million may be available for select projects. Eligible expenses include construction costs, land purchases for recreation access, planning efforts such as master plans or site plans, staff or volunteer training, transportation costs related to the project, equipment rental (with prior approval for purchases), community engagement activities, and project communications. Applicants should demonstrate how their projects meet community needs and priorities while benefiting a broad user base. Projects that will serve as significant assets at the local or regional level are prioritized. The program encourages collaboration with stakeholders to ensure lasting impact. Applications must be submitted by July 24, 2025. This opportunity provides substantial funding to enhance outdoor spaces throughout Colorado communities while supporting sustainable stewardship practices.
