The Community Health Investment Program (CHIP), administered by the Salina Regional Health Foundation and primarily funded by the Salina Regional Health Center, provides grants to organizations that are working to improve the health of residents in north central Kansas. Since its establishment in 1995, CHIP has awarded over $13 million in grants to a variety of health-focused organizations in the region.
Eligible applicants must propose healthcare programs or projects that address the programโs key funding priorities, which include childrenโs health (prenatal to 18 years), depression and mental health, aging populations, child obesity, drug overdose and substance abuse, heart disease-related indicators, and stroke. Applicants are limited to one application per 12-month period, excluding Good Neighbor Fund grants, based on the date their previous application was considered by the CHIP Committee. Applications for multi-year funding are not accepted.
Grant applications are accepted three times per year, with upcoming deadlines for FY 2025 on January 10, 2025, April 18, 2025, and August 15, 2025. Application materials include a Grant Application Form and a Grant Budget Form. Organizations are encouraged to align their project proposals clearly with one or more of the funding priority areas.
