Hillsborough County Neighborhood Mini-Grants 2025
This program provides funding to neighborhood associations in Hillsborough County for community projects that promote health, safety, and engagement among residents.
The 2025 Neighborhood Mini-Grant Program in Hillsborough County, Florida, aims to support neighborhood projects that foster healthy, safe, and engaged communities. Eligible entities include homeowners associations, civic and neighborhood associations, condominium associations, and other similar groups. However, for-profit service providers, individual people, and political groups are not eligible. All applying organizations must be listed on the Neighborhood Roster before submitting their application. The program funds projects that fall into three categories: Healthy Neighborhoods (e.g., community cleanups, health programs), Safe Neighborhoods (e.g., disaster preparedness, safety training), and Engaged Neighborhoods (e.g., events that bring neighbors together). Each project should actively involve community members and demonstrate sustainability, creativity, and long-term benefits. The maximum grant award is $5,000, and applications are due by November 4, 2024, at 5 p.m. Eligible projects must be completed by July 31, 2025, with a final report submitted by that date. A minimum of ten volunteers is required for participation. Applications must include detailed project and budget descriptions, meeting minutes approving the project, and documentation of community engagement. Some expenses are ineligible for funding, such as food, individual home improvements, multi-year projects, and government facility improvements. Grant recipients will follow specific steps for purchases and reimbursements, with all expenditures requiring pre-approval. Modifications to the project budget are possible with prior approval from a Neighborhood Liaison. Key dates include the mid-term report deadline on April 1, 2025, and the final report deadline on July 31, 2025. Grant recipients must comply with all guidelines to maintain eligibility for future funding.
