SEEN Grant Program
This grant provides funding to individuals and community groups in Worthington, Ohio, to support projects that strengthen neighborhoods and promote inclusion and collaboration within the community.
The Strengthening and Empowering Equitable Neighborhoods (SEEN) Grant Program is administered by the Community Relations Commission (CRC) of the City of Worthington, Ohio. The program aims to support individuals, organizations, and neighborhood associations that propose community-driven projects which foster a stronger sense of unity, collaboration, and equity within the Worthington School District. The SEEN Grant Program encourages proposals that align with Worthington’s Vision Statements, prioritizing initiatives that will create a meaningful and lasting community impact. This locally funded program offers financial support to projects designed to enhance community relations or strengthen neighborhood bonds. Previous grant recipients have executed initiatives such as improving neighborhood signage and landscaping, launching a disability-focused book program, and encouraging intergenerational engagement and music-related events. Projects must occur on public property, benefit the broader community or specific populations, and avoid serving as marketing vehicles for for-profit businesses. Eligibility is limited to residents within the Worthington School District, including informal groups and newly forming associations. Businesses are explicitly excluded. Applicants must demonstrate how their group is structured and explain their plans for collaborative and sustainable efforts. Projects must clearly show how they support a defined neighborhood or demographic and contribute meaningfully to public spaces. Applications are reviewed quarterly until available funds are exhausted. The 2025 deadlines are March 31, June 30, September 30, and December 31, with the next due date being December 31, 2025, at 5 PM Eastern. Applicants must complete an online or downloadable form and submit any required documents, including a project description, budget details, and, if applicable, supporting visuals. Evaluations are conducted by the CRC and City staff, with decisions announced by the middle of the following month after each deadline. Recipients must utilize funds within one calendar year, submit a Grant Agreement Form, and provide a completion report—including receipts and photos—within 30 days of project completion or six months post-award, whichever comes first. Grant recipients are encouraged to invite CRC members to relevant events or meetings. The SEEN Grant Program is not renewable but allows repeat applications for distinct projects in future years. Applicants can direct inquiries to Riley Hoover at riley.hoover@worthington.org or call 614-786-7347. The total pool of available grant funding is $3,000 for 2025. The program provides seed funding for community initiatives with an emphasis on sustainability and long-term value.
