Optimal Wellness for Older Adults in Colorado

The Denver Foundation invites applications for the Comprecare Fund, a grant opportunity focused on promoting optimal wellness among older adults in Colorado. When the Comprecare Foundation closed in 2015, it entrusted The Denver Foundation with $4.3 million to continue its work on aging issues across Colorado. Funding awards range from $7,500 to $20,000. Preference is given to creative and innovative new programs or projects, especially those that involve older adults in their planning and implementation. The fund also prioritizes sustainability, encouraging applicants who can combine funding from multiple sources. Approximately half of the awarded projects are expected to come from rural communities in Colorado. Eligible applicants must be 501(c)(3) nonprofit organizations or have a 501(c)(3) fiscal sponsor. Government agencies are also eligible if they collaborate with a nonprofit and demonstrate community impact on senior wellness through physical health, nutrition, or chronic condition management. All applicants must be located in or serve populations in Colorado. Funding is not available for projects focused on advocacy, capital campaigns, for-profit entities, planning grants, student scholarships, insurance payments, or medication expenses. To apply, organizations must register on The Denver Foundation’s grant portal and complete an online application.
