Make Every Drop Count
This funding opportunity is designed for U.S. and Jordanian organizations to implement a youth-focused water conservation project in Jordan, promoting awareness and behavior change around water use through social media engagement.
The U.S. Embassy in Amman, under the Department of State's Bureau of Near Eastern Affairs, has issued a Notice of Funding Opportunity (NOFO) for a grant titled "Make Every Drop Count: A Youth Water Conservation Project" (PAS-JOR-FY25-005). This initiative is funded through FY 2025 Smith-Mundt Public Diplomacy Funds and is part of the Embassy's ongoing public diplomacy efforts. It seeks to advance Jordanβs water security while promoting American expertise in water conservation. The Embassy invites applications from eligible U.S. and Jordanian organizations to lead a project that fosters behavior change around water use among Jordanian youth. Jordan is the second-most water-scarce country in the world, facing increasing water challenges due to infrastructure limitations, population growth, and climate conditions. This grant opportunity focuses on raising awareness and promoting water-saving practices among youth aged 16β25 throughout Jordan. The goal is to leverage the influence of non-professional social media influencers to spark national conversation and engagement around water conservation. Campaigns will center on Instagram reels and should incorporate culturally relevant, youth-oriented messages that draw on successful American models. The project period is expected to be between 12 and 18 months, with an anticipated start date of September 30, 2025. The U.S. Embassy anticipates awarding 1β2 grants, depending on the proposals received and available funding. The total funding pool is approximately $150,000, with individual awards ranging from $100,000 to $150,000. Projects must be completed within 18 months and adhere to all program objectives, including leveraging U.S. and Jordanian expertise, media strategy, influencer engagement, and behavior-change evaluation. Applicants must be U.S. or Jordanian nonprofit organizations, public or private educational institutions, and must demonstrate previous experience working in Jordan, working with youth, and developing social media campaigns. A Unique Entity Identifier (UEI) and active SAM.gov registration are mandatory. Jordanian applicants must also comply with local foreign funding approval processes. Each organization may submit only one application. Applications must be submitted via email to AmmanGrants@state.gov no later than 11:59 p.m. Standard Jordan Time on September 6, 2025. Required components include the SF-424 series forms, a detailed proposal of no more than 10 pages, a budget narrative, resumes of key personnel, letters of support from partners, and relevant registrations or permissions. Proposals will be evaluated based on program quality, organizational capacity, planning, budget, monitoring and evaluation, and sustainability. Notifications of awards or rejections will be sent out by October 1, 2025. Awardees will be required to report progress regularly and comply with federal guidelines as specified in 2 CFR 200 and related statutes. Expenditure of funds may begin only upon receipt of a signed award agreement from the Department of State. Questions regarding the application process should be directed to AmmanGrants@state.gov.
