United Way of Southeastern Idaho Community Investment Grants

The United Way of Southeastern Idaho (UWSEI) is accepting applications for its 2025-2026 Community Investment Grants to support programs that address the needs of ALICE (Asset Limited, Income-Constrained, Employed) households in the region. The grant process focuses on initiatives that create meaningful, measurable impacts in key areas of community well-being. Eligible organizations are encouraged to align their programs with UWSEI’s core impact areas and apply during the specified submission windows. The grant cycle begins with a Letter of Intent (LOI) phase, open from January 6 to January 10, 2025, followed by the full application period from January 20 to February 3, 2025. Funding requests must be between $1,000 and $30,000. If an organization's funding needs exceed $30,000, they should consult UWSEI staff before submitting their application. Programs must align with one or more of UWSEI’s core impact areas: closing cradle-to-career opportunity gaps, reducing food insecurity, increasing housing stability, and expanding access to mental health and primary healthcare for uninsured or underinsured individuals. Successful applications should demonstrate how the proposed program improves population-level outcomes in these areas, using a data-driven approach to show measurable impact. For example, a food distribution program may link the number of individuals served to reductions in the community’s food insecurity rate. To qualify, organizations must be human services-focused nonprofits with 501(c)(3) status and a minimum of two years of operational experience. Applicants should provide clear evidence of their program’s connection to community needs and describe strategic approaches that address these issues effectively. Applications should highlight specific program outcomes and demonstrate their alignment with the broader community goals identified by UWSEI. Proposals should include data that ties the program’s results to measurable community-level improvements, reinforcing the program’s contribution to addressing Southeastern Idaho's most pressing challenges.
