Grant Description

The 2025 IMPACT Awards, hosted by the Red Sox Foundation and presented by the Manning Family Foundation, marks the 11th year of this philanthropic initiative, which has awarded over $800,000 to nonprofits across New England since its inception in 2015. The program celebrates nonprofits that make a substantial difference in their communities by giving Red Sox fans the opportunity to nominate organizations for recognition and funding. This year, the awards will spotlight nonprofits that support research, awareness, advocacy, and services related to Type 1 Diabetes. The nomination process runs from April 7, 2025, through May 12, 2025. During this period, eligible individuals can nominate a nonprofit organization of their choice. After the nomination window closes, the Red Sox Foundation and Manning Family Foundation will review submissions to select five finalists from each of the six New England states, totaling 30 finalists. From these, Red Sox Nation will vote between June 9 and July 21 to choose three winners per state. The three highest-voted organizations in each state will be awarded grants: first place winners receive $15,000, second place $5,000, and third place $3,000. The organization with the most votes overall across all states will be named the IMPACT Regional Champion and awarded an additional $15,000 along with other promotional benefits and a feature during the awards pregame ceremony. Eligibility for nomination extends to legal residents of the United States and Canada (excluding Quebec), who are of the age of majority. Each individual may only submit one nomination per email address, household, or person. Nominated organizations must be 501(c)(3) nonprofits that operate within one of the six New England states and support the current year’s focus on Type 1 Diabetes. Key dates in the application and award cycle include the Foundation’s review period from May 14 to May 30, the announcement of finalists on June 2, and the notification of winners on July 23. Winners will also be honored in a special pregame ceremony at the Red Sox home game on August 16, 2025, where representatives from first-place organizations will be invited to participate on the field. Founded in 2003, the Manning Family Foundation emphasizes health-related philanthropy by funding innovative life sciences research. The Red Sox Foundation, as the official charity of the Boston Red Sox, focuses on supporting youth, veterans, families, and underserved communities through initiatives in health, education, and recreation.
