Grant Description

The Daily Grant from The Pollination Project is designed to provide microgrants to individuals, grassroots groups, and startup nonprofit organizations around the world. This program supports volunteer-led initiatives that align with the foundation’s values of compassion, environmental sustainability, and plant-based living. Grants are intended to fund community-benefit projects, not personal gain or commercial endeavors. Awards are available up to $500 USD, and projects must operate with a total budget under $10,000. Applicants may apply from any geographic location, provided they can receive a wire transfer and their project aligns with the foundation’s criteria. Organizations must be entirely volunteer-run, without salaried staff, although professional services such as web design or accounting are permitted. Additionally, organizations with annual budgets exceeding $50,000 or those that promote animal agriculture are not eligible. The grant is open to first-time applicants only; previous recipients of the Daily Grant are not eligible to reapply. The Pollination Project evaluates applications based on their alignment with its mission and guidelines. Projects must not engage in discriminatory practices or require beneficiaries to participate in religious activities. Certain project types and items are also ineligible, including academic research, political advocacy, donations, and projects involving the production or promotion of animal products such as meat, eggs, honey, or leather. Grant funds cannot be used to pay the grantee or their family members for their services. Additionally, funding cannot be used for synthetic chemicals, non-recycled paper, or single-use plastic products. The foundation is especially committed to supporting efforts that reduce harm to non-human animals and contribute to a plant-based future. The Pollination Project is a values-driven funder guided by compassion consciousness. The organization’s ethos emphasizes interrupting systems of oppression across all domains of life, including diet, consumption, and philanthropy. Through the Daily Grant, the foundation aims to empower grassroots change agents working on behalf of people, animals, and the planet.
