UWRC Community Impact Grants

The Community Impact Grant offered by the United Way of Rutland County (UWRC) is designed to support nonprofit organizations that provide services addressing critical community needs within Rutland County, Vermont. As a regional affiliate of the United Way network, UWRC dedicates itself to raising and investing local funds into essential programs focused on Health, Education, and Financial Stability. This grant cycle exemplifies UWRC's commitment to fostering community-driven change through a collaborative and inclusive funding approach. The 2025–26 Community Impact Grant application process begins with the submission of a Letter of Intent (LOI), which is mandatory for consideration. LOIs are due by May 19, 2025, and may be submitted through a Google Form or by downloading and sending a document version. After LOIs are reviewed, selected applicants will be invited to submit a full or mini grant proposal depending on the funding level they seek. The full application deadline is June 6, 2025. Applications are evaluated by the Community Impact Committee, composed of local volunteers and UWRC board members, between June 9 and June 27, 2025. The decision-making process culminates with the UWRC Board of Directors reviewing committee recommendations and announcing grant awards on July 14, 2025. The grant cycle officially begins on July 1, 2025, and runs through June 30, 2026. The first 50% of awarded funds are distributed by August 31, 2025, and the second half by December 31, 2025. A final report on grant outcomes must be submitted by March 30, 2026. Only 501(c)(3) nonprofit organizations based in and serving Rutland County are eligible to apply. For those requesting over $3,000, a full application packet must be completed; those requesting $3,000 or less use a mini application packet. The process emphasizes a user-friendly and transparent experience, with available resources such as a downloadable application handbook, a virtual training presentation, and optional Q&A sessions beginning May 12, 2025. The Community Impact Grant program reflects UWRC’s focus on equitable and impactful funding practices. The organization’s approach includes a strong support system for applicants, responsive communication, and a clear timeline that ensures timely fund distribution. Grantees also benefit from guidance throughout the implementation process to maximize the effectiveness of funded projects.
