Grant Description

The Community Foundation for Greater Atlanta is offering the 2025 Housing Stability Grant as part of its TogetherATL strategy to address housing and neighborhood disparities in the metro Atlanta region. This strategic plan, launched in 2022, reflects a five-year commitment to advancing equity and prosperity through targeted community investments. The Foundation’s work is grounded in collaboration with donors, nonprofits, and local communities, with a focus on place-based and systems-level change. The 2025 grant cycle specifically targets housing stability, with an emphasis on eviction prevention and services for individuals and families experiencing homelessness. Eligible programs may include legal support, fair housing advocacy, tenant rights education, transitional and permanent supportive housing, and financial assistance to prevent eviction. Applications may request general operating support if the organization’s core focus is housing stability; otherwise, funding must support a specific project. Eligible applicants must be 501(c)(3) organizations or operate under a fiscal sponsor with that status. Applicants must also be registered with the Georgia Secretary of State and operate in one or more of the following counties: Clayton, Cobb, DeKalb, Fulton, or Gwinnett. Proposals in the policy category may address statewide issues. Ineligible applicants include individuals, government bodies, school-affiliated organizations, and for-profits. Funding cannot be used for housing development, religious programming, capital campaigns, or event tickets. Applications are submitted through the Community Foundation’s online Grants Portal and must be received by 11:59 p.m. on July 3, 2025. The application period opened on May 22, 2025. A webinar is scheduled for June 3 to provide guidance on best practices and eligibility. Applications will be reviewed through a multi-phase process, including eligibility checks and potential site visits. Award decisions will be communicated between September 22–26, with agreements finalized by September 29. Applicants must outline the community need addressed, proposed impact, execution strategy, and success metrics. Proposals are evaluated on four criteria: impact, capacity, adaptability, and alignment with the Foundation’s priorities. Preference is given to programs addressing the Foundation’s other strategic areas or focus neighborhoods, including College Park/East Point, Fair Oaks, and Thomasville Heights. Questions about this funding opportunity can be directed to Kaela Hammond, Program Officer for Housing Funds, at khammond@cfgreateratlanta.org. Applicants are encouraged to engage early and review the detailed guidelines and criteria available through the Foundation’s website and Grants Portal.
