The City of Abbeville is offering Small Business Grants for 2025 to support local businesses and promote economic growth within the community. These grants aim to fund projects that contribute to public health, safety, welfare, security, prosperity, and overall contentment of residents. Funding is available annually as long as resources permit.
There are four grant categories available: New Business Grant, Existing Business Grant, Historic District Building Improvement Grant, and Energy Efficiency Grant. Each grant offers funding up to $10,000 except the Energy Efficiency Grant which provides up to $6,000. All grants require a 25% match from applicants.
The New Business Grant targets businesses opened or under current ownership for three years or less. Eligible projects focus on startup costs including building improvements that help establish or grow new businesses in Abbeville.
The Existing Business Grant supports businesses operating under current ownership for more than three years. This grant funds needed business improvements or non-routine maintenance expenses with an emphasis on enhancing existing operations.
The Historic District Building Improvement Grant is designated for building improvement projects located within Abbeville’s Historic District. This encourages preservation and enhancement of historic properties while supporting business activities.
Eligible applicants must be businesses located within the City of Abbeville. Applicants can apply for one grant category that best fits their project needs. For detailed information about eligibility requirements and application procedures, visit the City of Abbeville’s official website before the October 2, 2024 deadline.
