United Performing Arts Fund Affiliate Program 2025
This grant provides unrestricted funding to nonprofit performing arts organizations in Southeastern Wisconsin that produce professional performances, offer youth training culminating in public shows, or support the performing arts community through collaborative venues.
The United Performing Arts Fund (UPAF) Affiliate Program is an annual, application-based grant opportunity aimed at supporting nonprofit performing arts organizations within Southeastern Wisconsin. UPAF, a prominent funder in the region, is committed to fostering a vibrant performing arts scene by distributing unrestricted funding that must be used within the designated fiscal year. The grant cycle is open for the 2025 funding year, with applications accepted until June 30, 2025. Funding decisions are made following UPAF Board approval in October of the same year. This program is specifically designed to support organizations whose missions are deeply rooted in the performing arts. The funding is intended to assist organizations that produce high-quality performances using compensated professional artists, offer professional performing arts training for youth culminating in public performances, or provide venues that actively support the performing arts community through collaboration with UPAF Member organizations. To be eligible, applicants must be recognized as tax-exempt under section 501(c)(3) of the Internal Revenue Code for at least 12 months before applying. They must also have an active board of directors and compensate their professional staff. Additionally, the applicant must primarily serve residents in one or more of the following counties: Milwaukee, Waukesha, Ozaukee, Washington, Racine, Kenosha, or Walworth. The principal objective of the organization must fall within one of the qualifying categories outlined by UPAF. Organizations whose missions do not align directly with the performing arts, as well as government agencies, religious-based entities serving only their denominations, and certain types of musical groups or instructional programs that lack a performance component, are not eligible for this grant. Individuals are also not eligible to apply. Applications must be submitted by June 30, 2025, and the funding decisions will be publicly announced in October 2025. Interested applicants are encouraged to ensure they meet all eligibility requirements and can demonstrate their alignment with UPAFโs mission and goals. For questions or further information, applicants can contact Dani Kuepper at UPAF by phone at 414-273-8723.
