City of Las Vegas Community Development Block Grant
This funding opportunity supports nonprofit organizations in Las Vegas that provide essential services such as homelessness prevention, health services, youth development, and employment training for low- to moderate-income residents.
The City of Las Vegas Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) Public Services Program supports nonprofit organizations addressing key community priorities through public service delivery. This two-year grant opportunity is funded by federal CDBG entitlement funds administered locally by the City of Las Vegas Department of Neighborhood Services. The grant cycle covers fiscal years 2026–2027 and 2027–2028. The program seeks to support services that address homelessness prevention, health services, youth development, and employment training for residents with low to moderate incomes. The city invites qualified 501(c)(3) or 501(c)(4) nonprofits to apply through a competitive Request for Proposal (RFP) process. Applicants must have been operating for at least one year before the RFP release, be in good standing with the Nevada Secretary of State, and hold a valid City of Las Vegas business license for the address where services will be provided. This grant requires a minimum request of $65,000, with no maximum specified. Applications must be submitted online through the Neighborly portal. The final deadline is Thursday, November 13, 2025, at 3:00 p.m. Pacific Time. Applications will not be accepted from organizations that fail to attend one of the mandatory technical assistance workshops scheduled for October 28, 2025. Application evaluation includes a review of organizational capacity, alignment with priority focus areas, and evidence-based program design. Eligible programs must meet one or more of the national CDBG objectives: benefit low- and moderate-income persons, prevent or eliminate slums or blight, or address urgent community needs. Following an eligibility review, qualifying applications are presented to the Community Development Review Board for scoring and recommendation to the Las Vegas City Council. The city expects applicants to adhere to monthly and quarterly reporting requirements, including progress and financial reports, and to participate in regular monitoring. Successful applicants will be notified after Council approval. Presentations before the Review Board are scheduled for February 9 and 11, 2026. Technical and programmatic questions may be directed to Grant Program Coordinator Timothy Glisson at [email protected] or 702.229.2120. Applications, notices, and supporting documentation are accessible via the city’s grants portal.
