The Rhode Island Dental Foundation Fund Grants are administered by the Rhode Island Dental Foundation, an affiliate of the Rhode Island Dental Association. Established in 2023, this fund is designed to support community organizations and initiatives that advance oral and dental health across the State of Rhode Island.
The primary purpose of the fund is to promote the improvement of dentistry and public oral health through education, research, public service projects, and community-based initiatives. The fund offers support for programs that enhance the accessibility and availability of dental care for underserved populations, educate the public about oral health, and support oral health education across the state. Additionally, the fund provides scholarships for Rhode Island residents pursuing careers as dental auxiliaries with the intent to work in the state.
Grants awarded through this program typically range between $500 and $5,000. Eligible expenditures include but are not limited to community-based dental projects, oral health education initiatives, free clinics, public awareness campaigns, and scholarships for dental auxiliary training. The program does not require matching funds.
Eligibility is open to community organizations focused on oral and dental health within Rhode Island as well as individual Rhode Island residents pursuing dental auxiliary careers. Organizations may submit only one application per year to this fund, but this does not restrict them from applying to other grant programs administered by the Rhode Island Foundation.
Applications must be submitted through the Rhode Island Foundation’s online system using the Small Grant Program application form. Required components include a completed application form, a budget form, a proposal narrative, and a current list of the organization’s board of directors. All applications must be received by 3:00 p.m. EST on June 30, 2025. Grants will be reviewed annually in September.
