The Montgomery County Office of Grants Management (OGM) is accepting applications for the FY26 Cost Sharing Capital Grants (CSCG) Program, designated as ID FY26CSCG. This grant program is intended for qualified 501(c)(3) nonprofit organizations seeking to implement capital projects that enhance access to resources, provide direct services, promote historical preservation, foster cultural enrichment, or offer other benefits to Montgomery County, Maryland residents. The FY26 County Executive Recommended Budget allocates approximately $3.0 million for nonprofit capital projects, although final funding amounts are subject to adjustments following the County Council’s approval in late May 2026 and the impact of ongoing multi-year awards from prior cycles.
The FY26 CSCG competition features a two-stage application process. Stage One requires submission of a brief application focusing on topline funding requests and eligibility verification. Applicants who successfully complete Stage One will be invited to Stage Two, which will involve a more detailed application process after finalization of the FY26 County Capital Budget. The application window for Stage One opens on April 14, 2025, and closes on April 28, 2025, at 11:59 PM. An online information session via MS Teams will be hosted on April 18, 2025, from 9:30 AM to 10:30 AM to assist potential applicants.
Capital projects eligible for funding must involve one-time expenses of $5,000 or more related to the purchase or improvement of a single fixed asset. Approximately $2.5 million is available for FY26 projects, divided between Arts Facility Capital Grants ($636,280) and Non-Arts Facility Capital Grants ($1,867,593). Arts Facility projects must primarily focus on the exhibition, education, or support of arts and humanities disciplines. All applicants must have previously secured a State capital award, such as a Maryland State Bond Bill, to qualify for this matching grant program.
Grants will range from $50,000 to $1,000,000, with a maximum of $350,000 awarded in any single fiscal year across multi-year projects. Matching contributions, either cash or in-kind, are required for this funding. Applications must be submitted through the Euna (eCivis) Grants Portal, with additional resources such as training videos and user guides available to assist applicants.
