CFNN Nevada Dream Tags Charitable Fund
This grant provides funding to nonprofit organizations and government entities in Nevada for projects that improve wildlife habitats and promote conservation efforts.
The Dream Tags Charitable Fund, administered by the Community Foundation of Northern Nevada, is currently accepting grant proposals on a rolling basis throughout the year. The initiative is aimed at enhancing wildlife conservation efforts across Nevada by supporting strategic and collaborative projects with a focus on the preservation, protection, management, and restoration of big game and other wildlife habitats. Emergency funding requests are reviewed as needed, while non-emergency proposals must be submitted by noon on Friday, July 25, 2025, to be considered at the next Advisory Board meeting. The primary objective of the Dream Tags Charitable Fund is to engage the public in wildlife conservation and restore resilience in at-risk Nevada habitats. Applicants are expected to demonstrate measurable outcomes that align with these goals. The fund places strong emphasis on projects that provide on-the-ground habitat improvements, are backed by scientific research or prior monitoring, and offer solutions to existing ecological challenges. Preference is given to initiatives that involve partnerships and collaborative funding efforts, increasing the potential impact and scope of conservation outcomes. Eligibility is restricted to registered 501(c)(3) nonprofit organizations, nonprofit educational institutions, and governmental entities. All proposed projects must be carried out within the state of Nevada. The funding is reimbursable and will only cover expenditures incurred after the grant has been approved. Retroactive funding for previously executed work is not allowed. Grantees must adhere to a comprehensive set of requirements to maintain funding eligibility. These include exclusive use of funds for charitable purposes, alignment with the stated goals of the fund, provision of detailed financial and activity reports upon request, and the submission of quarterly updates. Political contributions or advocacy are strictly prohibited. Additionally, grantees are expected to enter into a formal agreement outlining all terms, conditions, and reporting obligations. Applications will be evaluated based on several criteria, including measurable conservation outcomes, monitoring and reporting frameworks, organizational readiness, and potential for strategic partnerships. Projects that closely align with the fund’s mission and demonstrate the capacity for significant ecological impact will be prioritized. Avoidance of negative or unintended environmental consequences is also a critical consideration. Prospective applicants should initiate their application through the Community Foundation’s new online grant management system. For organizations that may already have an account in the system, it is advised to contact Lauren Sgandurra at laurens@nevadafund.org rather than creating a duplicate account.
