The District of Columbia Department of Health (DC Health), through its Community Health Administration and Health Promotion and Disease Prevention Bureau, announces a funding opportunity to support initiatives that reduce tobacco use and improve asthma health outcomes. This initiative will utilize academic detailing as a personalized, interactive educational outreach method targeted at healthcare professionals, particularly those in primary care and behavioral health.
The selected applicant will develop jurisdiction-specific educational resources related to asthma control and tobacco cessation and implement a series of academic detailing visits. These visits will promote evidence-based best practices among healthcare professionals across the District.
This opportunity, identified as FO# CHA-TobAsth-5.23.25, will provide a total of $300,000 in annual funding, with individual awards ranging between $275,000 and $300,000. Only one award is expected. Matching funds are not required. The grant is federally funded under CFDA# 93.070, authorized by the FY26 Budget Support Act of 2025 and Section 317(k)(3) of the Public Health Service Act. The associated Federal Award ID is 6 NUE1EH001500-01-01.
