The Contributions to Non-Profits Grant is administered by the City of Twentynine Palms to support non-profit organizations that deliver services and programs benefiting residents of Twentynine Palms, California. Entities must maintain valid tax-exempt status and may be subject to compliance verification through state and federal channels, including the IRS, California Secretary of State, and the California Attorney General’s office. Organizations with unresolved compliance or financial issues may be deemed ineligible. Proposals are expected to be inclusive and accessible, ensuring equitable service to the community. Funding is available for direct program costs such as service delivery, outreach, participation support, and operational expenses closely tied to the funded initiative. The City has allocated a total of $75,000 for the fiscal year 2026–2027 and reserves the right to provide partial funding based on eligibility, scoring, and capacity assessments. Disbursement methods may vary and are defined within the City’s Grant Agreement, which all recipients must sign before any funds are released. Recipients may receive payments through reimbursement, milestone-based installments, or a hybrid approach depending on program terms. Applications will be reviewed by a designated subcommittee and/or city staff for eligibility and completeness before recommendations are made to the City Council during a public meeting. Applicants may be invited to participate in this meeting if additional clarification is needed. Final funding decisions are made by the Council based on a program's alignment with city goals and available budget. Applicants must submit a full application, including narrative, budget, and required attachments such as proof of non-profit status. Grant recipients are required to maintain accurate records of expenditures and outcomes and submit reports in accordance with City deadlines. Compliance with insurance requirements, branding guidelines, and communications standards is also mandatory when applicable. Records must be retained for at least three years following the grant period, and recipients may be subject to site visits or further review by the City to ensure proper use of funds.
