Kansas Office of Apprenticeship Project Grant
This funding opportunity is designed to support organizations in Kansas that are focused on developing registered apprenticeship programs to attract and retain skilled employees in response to industry demands.
The Kansas Department of Commerce is seeking applications from eligible Joint Apprenticeship Training Councils (including Labor Unions), state educational institutions, businesses, non-profits, or workforce boards for projects aimed at attracting and retaining employees and building the state workforce through registered apprenticeship. Applications must demonstrate a clear linkage between the project, industry demand, apprentice training, and apprentice recruitment. The total program budget is up to $500,000, with individual awards ranging from $75,000 to $200,000. A 1:1 matching requirement is mandated. The Request for Applications is issued on August 1, 2024, with submissions due by August 25, 2024, at 5:00 PM CDT. The earliest notice of award is September 1, 2024. Projects must be completed by July 30, 2025. Grant funds may be used for various project needs related to technical instruction, OJT, staffing, marketing, outreach, and other allowable activities as stated in the project proposal. Reimbursement will be on a quarterly basis, with required documentation of expenditures.
