The grant excludes several categories from eligibility. Ineligible applicants include government agencies, and disallowed uses of funds include religious projects, political campaigns, debt retirement, classroom grants, fundraising events, and activities not directly aligned with a philanthropic mission. Any projects or organizations engaging in discriminatory practices are not eligible for funding. Additionally, groups such as bands or sports teams must demonstrate a specific philanthropic project to be considered. For 2025, CFMC will award a total of $63,000 in unrestricted funds. This pool may be allocated to one or more recipients based on the potential impact and scope of the projects proposed. Applicants are encouraged to fully articulate the needs behind their funding request, as the foundation evaluates proposals based on their potential to advance community well-being. The selection process includes a detailed review by the CFMC Grants Committee, followed by a question period with applicants and final board approval. The grant cycle begins with the application going live on July 7, with submissions due by August 8. The Grants Committee will review proposals from August 11 through September 2. Any follow-up questions will be communicated to applicants between September 3 and 10. Final funding recommendations will be submitted to the CFMC Board on September 11, with board approval occurring the following day on September 12.
