Grant Description

The Indigenous Justice Circle is offering a funding opportunity aimed at revitalizing Native Intergenerational Girl Societies as a means of preventing Missing and Murdered Indigenous Women, Girls, and Two-Spirit (MMIWG2S) cases and enhancing the safety and well-being of Native American girls and women. The Indigenous Justice Circle (IJC), powered by Panorama Global, is a nonprofit platform dedicated to fostering social change through collaboration and bold action. This initiative is designed to address challenges that arise at the intersection of race, culture, gender, age, and socio-economic status. The program seeks to support Native-controlled organizations and individuals in establishing in-person Girl Societies that promote connectedness, safety, and health in Native communities. This funding opportunity provides selected applicants with both financial resources and an integrated suite of IMAGEN tools, which include monthly virtual inter-tribal gatherings, an implementation guide, a curriculum, resilience cards, and a mobile phone-based app. The goal is to facilitate the planning, implementation, and sustainability of local Native Intergenerational Girl Societies. Eligible applicants include Native-controlled nonprofits, LLCs, community organizations, Tribal colleges and universities, Tribal governments, Native Community Development Financial Institutions (CDFIs), and groups of local Native women with a fiscal sponsor. Applications are open to those with demonstrated experience serving Native adolescent girls, women, or youth and the ability to implement community-based programming. The program will fund 6 to 8 awards ranging from $5,000 to $25,000 each, totaling up to $120,000 in funding over a 20-month period from approximately October 2025 through June 2027. Allowable expenses include indirect costs (up to 15%), mentor stipends, staff time, guest speaker honorariums, curriculum adaptation, production and printing of outreach materials, local transportation, food and supplies for group sessions, and field trip costs. Award recipients are required to conduct weekly or bi-weekly in-person Girl Society sessions following the IMAGEN curriculum, participate in virtual gatherings, engage in storytelling activities, and submit mid-term and final reports with accompanying high-resolution photographs. Applications open on May 15, 2025, and will close on July 14, 2025, at 11:59 pm ET. Notifications will be sent on September 15, 2025. The application process includes completing the IJC 2025 Girl Society Application Form, providing a detailed budget, key staff bios, and appropriate tax status documentation. Additional requirements include the recruitment of mentors and girls, active participation in virtual gatherings, and collaboration with the IJC team for program evaluation and storytelling. An informational webinar is scheduled for June 10, 2025, at 1:00 pm ET, with the recording available to those who register but cannot attend. The program implementation timeline includes project planning in Fall/Winter 2025, school-term sessions in Spring and Fall 2026 and Spring 2027, and optional summer sessions in 2026. Evaluation components involve a mid-term report at nine months and a final report within 60 days of the program’s end. Applicants can reach out to info@indigenousjc.org for questions or further information. The Indigenous Justice Circle maintains offices in New York, Arizona, and Oklahoma, and this initiative is made possible through generous funding and operational support by Panorama Global.
