Greenville Women Giving (GWG) is a women-led collective philanthropic organization serving Greenville County, South Carolina. Its annual grant program supports nonprofit and government organizations that deliver high-impact, measurable change across five community focus areas: Arts, Education, Environment, Health, and Human Services. GWG operates under the umbrella of the Community Foundation of Greenville but conducts its own grantmaking through member contributions and donor-directed gifts.
GWG awards grants annually, with the 2026 cycle offering awards ranging from $50,000 to $100,000, distributed in May. The funds may support either one-year or two-year projects, with one-year grants concluding by June 30, 2027, and two-year grants concluding by June 30, 2028. Organizations may only submit one application per year unless they operate five or more locations in Greenville County and have at least 5,000 employees. Repeat funding is allowed, though grantees must complete all reporting requirements and assessment reviews before becoming eligible for subsequent applications.
Eligible applicants must either be 501(c)(3) organizations or units of government, and all grant-funded services must be provided within Greenville County. Applications open on January 2, 2026, and are due by 5:00 p.m. on January 23, 2026. A pre-recorded information session will be available on October 29, 2025, followed by a live Q&A on November 5, 2025. Selected applicants participate in site visits conducted by the Grants Review Committee (GRC) in February. Finalists are then invited to a Ballot Showcase in April, where they present their proposals to GWG members for a final vote.
GWG prioritizes projects that demonstrate community need, potential for meaningful impact, fiscal responsibility, and measurable results. Collaborative efforts that leverage other funding sources are encouraged. Grants cannot be used for endowments, staff travel, re-granting, or programs that restrict access based on religious or political affiliations.
All grantees must comply with GWGβs Grants Assessment Committee requirements, including progress and final reporting. Organizations that do not complete prior grants by the end of their grant term are ineligible to reapply until all assessments are completed and approved.
