2025-2026 Community Development Block Grant
This funding opportunity provides financial support for community development projects that improve facilities, infrastructure, and public services for low- and moderate-income residents in specific areas of San Diego County.
The County of San Diego Housing and Community Development Services (HCDS) is accepting applications for its 2025-2026 Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) program, with submissions due by November 27, 2024, at 5:00 pm PST. This federal funding opportunity supports community development efforts such as facilities and infrastructure improvements, affordable housing acquisition, neighborhood enhancements, and public services for low- and moderate-income communities. Eligible projects must serve the County's unincorporated areas or the cities of Coronado, Del Mar, Imperial Beach, Lemon Grove, Poway, and Solana Beach. Applicants must align projects with CDBG program guidelines and the County’s 5-Year Consolidated Plan, with a focus on advancing economic and racial equity within vulnerable communities. Successful applicants will have their projects included in the County’s 2025-2026 Annual Plan for Board of Supervisors' approval and will then enter CDBG contracts with County oversight. Eligible applicants include public entities and tax-exempt nonprofit organizations, with applications requiring submission by an authorized representative. Private residents may submit a separate "Resident Request Application" but are advised to consult with HCDS before applying. To support applicants, HCDS will hold two virtual technical assistance sessions on October 16 and November 6, 2024, with additional one-on-one support available upon request. Interested parties can find application materials and the program guide online.
