Grant Description

The Calaveras Community Foundation (CCF), a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization dedicated to enriching and improving the lives of Calaveras County residents, is opening its 2025 competitive grant process to eligible applicants. CCF has a longstanding history of supporting a diverse range of impactful local initiatives. Each year, the foundation receives more requests than it can fund, underscoring the need for applicants to present strong, well-developed proposals that clearly demonstrate benefit to Calaveras County residents. The 2025 grant cycle is open to a wide range of projects, but CCF will give special emphasis to initiatives that address food scarcity, mental health, and substance abuse education and prevention. Applicants are encouraged to demonstrate innovation, collaborative potential, and a clear plan for execution and evaluation. Projects must be for public benefit and cannot be used for overhead, personnel expenses, political or religious purposes, or to support other grant-making entities. Additionally, funding is not available for annual campaigns, debt retirement, or endowment funds. Grants of up to $10,000 are available for eligible proposals. All awarded projects must be completed within 12 months of the award notification. The Foundation values feasibility, planning, and a unique impact within the county. Applications should outline a logical work plan, identify success benchmarks, and, if possible, show collaboration with other Calaveras County organizations or agencies. Duplication of existing services or programs is discouraged. Eligible applicants include nonprofit organizations with 501(c)(3) status, schools, and units of government. Only one application may be submitted per entity. Schools must have applications signed by both the teacher and principal, nonprofits must include signatures from the Executive Director or CEO and the Board Chair or President, and government entities must include a signature from the top Administrator or Board Chair. All applicants must demonstrate non-discriminatory policies in hiring and service delivery. The application period begins on July 1, 2025, and ends on July 31, 2025. Only electronic submissions will be accepted; mailed applications will not be considered. All applicants will be notified of decisions by the end of September 2024. Projects selected for funding will begin execution upon award notification and must conclude within one year. For more information, applicants may contact the Foundation directly. The physical address is 575 Stanislaus Ave., Suite B, Angels Camp, CA 95222, and the mailing address is P.O. Box 1436, Angels Camp, CA 95222. Phone inquiries can be directed to (209) 736-1845 and email communication should be sent to info@calaverascommunityfoundation.org.
