The 2025β27 Housing Stability & Youth Experiencing Homelessness Initiative is a competitive funding opportunity launched by Liberty Mutual Foundation. Since 2003, Liberty Mutual Foundation has supported communities where Liberty Mutual employees live and work, with specific efforts in youth homelessness since 2016 and housing stability since 2022. This initiative merges those two programs to amplify their collective impact across Greater Boston.
The initiative supports nonprofit partners that offer services to underserved families in economically challenged areas of Boston, Brockton, Cambridge, Chelsea, Quincy, Randolph, and Somerville. It is divided into two primary tracks: Housing Stability for families and individuals, and Youth Experiencing Homelessness. These tracks aim to foster secure, stable housing and empower participants through services such as financial literacy, counseling, job training, and life skills development.
Grants are awarded for a three-year term, contingent upon the submission of satisfactory interim reports. While funding amounts are not predefined, Liberty Mutual Foundation encourages smaller nonprofits with requests under $50,000 to consider its discretionary proposal route. Organizations must align with specific metrics like the number of people moved into stable housing or evictions prevented. The grant does not require matching funds.
Eligible applicants are 501(c)(3) nonprofit organizations with demonstrated experience in housing stability or youth homelessness services. Organizations with active 2025 grants (excluding Strategic Supplemental Grants) are ineligible. Each proposal must include detailed program descriptions, outcome goals, budget data, and supporting financial documentation.
Applications are submitted via the CyberGrants portal. The portal opened on June 2, 2025, and the final deadline is July 14, 2025. A Q&A session for applicants is scheduled for June 11, 2025, and attendance is highly encouraged for new applicants. Questions can be submitted to Foundation@LibertyMutual.com. No proposals for this initiative will be accepted in 2026β2027, with the next cycle expected in 2028, pending board approval.
