Triangle North Healthcare Foundation is a private grantmaking organization dedicated to enhancing health outcomes in North Carolina’s Triangle North region, comprising Vance, Warren, Granville, and Franklin counties. Its mission is to encourage, support, and invest in quality organizations and programming that measurably improve health in this region. With a vision of living in a healthy community, the Foundation acts as a catalyst for positive change by identifying, promoting, and supporting opportunities that address key health concerns.
The Foundation emphasizes strategic grantmaking in the areas of child well-being, chronic disease, reproductive health, nutrition and physical fitness, and mental health and substance abuse. It places priority on applications that are innovative, proactive, and evidence-based—particularly those that foster sustainable impact and long-term improvement in community health. Programs that demonstrate potential for long-lasting benefits and effective evaluation strategies are favored during the review process. Collaboration among nonprofit organizations and between sectors is also encouraged to maximize effectiveness.
Eligibility for funding includes nonprofit organizations with valid 501(c)(3) status, governmental agencies, and schools operating in the Triangle North region. Priority consideration is given to applicants located in the Tier One counties of Vance and Warren. The Foundation does not support capital campaigns, political activity, endowments, debt retirement, or projects that exclusively benefit members of sectarian organizations.
The 2026–2027 Responsive Grant Cycle follows a two-step process. The cycle opens on January 20, 2026. All interested organizations must first submit a Letter of Interest (LOI) by March 31, 2026. Selected applicants will be invited to submit a full grant application by May 30, 2026. Both stages of the application must be submitted through the Foundation’s online grant portal. Only those invited after LOI review will be allowed to continue in the process.
Proposals are evaluated on alignment with the Foundation’s priorities, potential for measurable health impact, program sustainability, and evaluation mechanisms. The Foundation’s Grant Review Committee meets annually to make funding recommendations to the Board of Directors. Although the number and size of grants awarded vary depending on available funds and project scope, multi-year funding is currently not available.
Applicants may contact the Foundation via [email protected] or by phone at 252-430-8532 for guidance or to schedule a project review. Grant awards are typically made in September following the application period. This recurring grant program is expected to operate on an annual cycle moving forward.
