Youth and Senior Citizens Grant Program 2025
This grant provides funding to nonprofit organizations and government entities for youth summer programs that promote education and social interaction, or for senior citizen programs that encourage entertainment and cognitive engagement in the Lockwood area.
The Lockwood Community Foundation works to improve the quality of life for individuals in Lockwood through thoughtful grantmaking and community leadership. The Foundation is governed by a Board of Directors who are selected for their knowledge of the local area. Grant decisions are made by the Foundation’s grant committee. The Lockwood Affiliate Youth and Senior Citizens Grant Program Summer FY25 supports the Foundation’s flexible community grantmaking mission by funding programs that address important community needs at this time. The program is made possible through the generosity of donors who have established unrestricted or field-of-interest funds, as well as through dollars raised by the Foundation. For the Summer FY25 cycle, the grant program focuses on two areas. The first is youth summer programs that promote education and social interaction in the Lockwood area. The second is senior citizen programs that foster entertainment and cognitive interaction for senior citizens in the same area. Applicants may select one of these two program focuses when applying. Eligible applicants include 501(c)(3) nonprofit organizations, government entities such as city and county governments, school districts, and churches. All applicants must provide services that benefit the Lockwood area. Discrimination in the use of grant funds or in the provision of services funded by the grant is prohibited on the basis of race, color, sex, religion, national origin, age, ability, sexual orientation, gender identity, or veteran status. Applications are being accepted from June 2, 2025, through noon on June 20, 2025. Applications must be submitted through the Foundation’s grant application system, which uses a character count for all responses. Applicants can apply for up to $1,000 in funding. There is no matching requirement. There are no pre-application deadlines or formal Q&A sessions listed, but applicants are encouraged to contact Renee Galer at 417-232-4941 with questions about the program or Latesa Carter at 417-864-6199 with technical questions about the application process.
