Grant Description

The Artist Access (ART) Grants Program, administered by the Miami-Dade County Department of Cultural Affairs in partnership with FUNDarte, is designed to support the professional development of practicing artists residing in Miami-Dade County. The program offers grants of up to $2,000 to assist artists in pursuing opportunities that will advance their careers in demonstrable ways. Eligible activities include specialized workshops, artist residencies, technique classes with master artists, conferences, teaching artist training, arts leadership training, and other non-credit artistic learning opportunities, whether in person or virtual. Applicants must clearly demonstrate how the proposed opportunity will enhance their artistic practice and career trajectory. To be eligible, applicants must be at least 18 years old, legal full-time residents of Miami-Dade County for at least one year prior to the application deadline, and recognized as working professional artists. Students currently enrolled in high school, undergraduate, graduate, or doctoral programs are not eligible. Additionally, the program does not fund project-oriented opportunities such as exhibitions or performances, professional certifications, or touring engagements. The ART Grants Program operates on a reimbursement basis, with funds disbursed upon completion of the approved activity and submission of a final report, including proof of expenses. Applicants are encouraged to attend a pre-submission workshop to gain a comprehensive understanding of the program's guidelines and application process. For more information or assistance with the application, artists can contact Roxana Barba at rbarba@miamidade.gov or Carlos Caballero at info@fundarte.us.
