Atlanta Artadia Awards
This grant provides financial support to visual artists residing in specific Georgia counties, enabling them to advance their creative projects without restrictions.
The Atlanta Artadia Awards are part of a regional open-call grant program operated by Artadia, a national nonprofit organization supporting contemporary visual artists across the United States. This specific cycle supports artists living and working within 23 counties in the Atlanta metropolitan area. The application for the Atlanta Awards opens on September 1 and closes on October 1, 2025. The program provides unrestricted funding to artists and includes structured opportunities for professional development through the Artadia Network. Artists selected through the Atlanta Artadia Awards receive $15,000 in unrestricted funding, allowing them to apply the grant toward any aspect of their artistic practice. In addition to financial support, awardees benefit from expanded exposure via Artadia’s national Artist Registry and connections made through the Artadia Network, which links artists to curators, institutions, and peers. Finalists not selected for the award also receive honorariums in recognition of their time and contribution to the selection process. The application process begins with an open call via Submittable, the only accepted submission platform. A three-member jury, including one local curator, conducts the first round of review, narrowing the applicant pool to six finalists. In the second round, a new juror joins the panel to conduct 45-minute virtual studio visits with each finalist. Based on these sessions, three awardees are chosen. All applications must be completed during the one-month open period; incomplete or emailed submissions are not accepted. To be eligible for the Atlanta Artadia Awards, applicants must be contemporary visual artists working in a context that includes museums, galleries, arts nonprofits, or public art venues. They must reside and work in one of the following Georgia counties and have done so for at least two years prior to the application deadline: Barrow, Bartow, Butts, Carroll, Cherokee, Clayton, Cobb, Coweta, DeKalb, Douglas, Fayette, Forsyth, Fulton, Gwinnett, Hall, Henry, Morgan, Newton, Paulding, Pickens, Rockdale, Spalding, and Walton. Applicants cannot be enrolled in or planning to enroll in an art-related degree program and must not have received a previous Artadia or Art Council award of $10,000 or more. Applications require media uploads (digital images or time-based works), an artist statement, and a biography. These materials are reviewed individually during the jury process. If selected as a finalist, applicants must be available for a virtual studio visit with jurors. Applicants may save and revise their application on Submittable until the October 1, 2025 deadline. Awardees are chosen at the sole discretion of the jury based on the merit of their submitted materials.
